NBA superstar, Lebron James is earning big points with his fans since returning to Cleveland. He’s back with the Cavaliers after a rocky beginning, but successful career, with the Miami Heat.

While his public announcement to “take his talents to Miami” was controversial, his decision highlighted the importance of seeking new ways to improve your career.

Like Lebron, family business members should also step out of their comfort zone and find new ways to improve their “talent”. Whether it’s attending an industry conference, going back to school, or working (for a time) with a different company, it is important to discover the best way to grow in your career. Like James, who is now ready to enter the 2015 NBA finals with the Cavaliers, sometimes that means making a move that stretches your comfort level – and may not be popular.
