Mary Ann Zimmerman is an organizational consultant who specializes in assessment and intervention with family owned and managed concerns, with a primary focus on health care, geriatrics, and governmental contracting.
Ms. Zimmerman has extensive experience in the application of psychological and administrative knowledge in organizations. She has a particular interest in the assessment and executive coaching of individuals within the family system. As a communications specialist, Ms. Zimmerman enjoys assisting individuals, families, and organizations in improving their communication dynamics, and is skilled in teaching the "core competencies" which make up emotional intelligence.
Additionally, Mary Ann develops effective protocols and procedures to assist family enterprises in maintaining compliance with all regulatory agencies, guidelines and mandates. She previously served as the Manager of Patient and Community Relations in a community healthcare system in the Midwest.
Ms. Zimmerman is the past president of the Arizona Geriatrics Society. She is drawn to issues pertaining to the aging population in both communities and agencies. She is a CARF accreditation surveyor, and frequently travels throughout the U.S. to evaluate and accredit agencies which come under state and federal review.
Ms. Zimmerman has been deeply involved in a variety of community organizations and is past president of the Northwest Valley Chamber of Commerce in Arizona and an Ohio Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association. She served on the Board of Directors for a state Chapter of the American Heart Association and as a member of the City of Surprise, Arizona Planning and Zoning Commission.
Ms. Zimmerman experienced family business first hand growing up in her parents businesses. She followed in her parent’s footsteps and became the owner/operator of two companies in Arizona, both of which recently sold.
Ms. Zimmerman earned her Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Master’s in individual and organizational intervention.
Mary Ann enjoys spending time with her father, gardening, motorcycle riding, and piloting her airplanes between her homes in Sedona and Phoenix, Arizona and San Diego, California.
